Why would you want to install all those different desktops? It's a
colossal waste of disk space. If you want Xfce, install Xubuntu, not
Ubuntu. Otherwise, whatever desktop you install, if you install a KDE
app, say, APT will bring in just the libraries that app needs and no
more. You don't need to install the whole desktop just to run apps
from it - that is very inefficient and wasteful of resources.
