how do I move my drivers from archive manager to someplace were the video card can recognize it?

I took a look at the readme.txt of the binary tar.gz (not the source),
and I think you are supposed to run install.sh.

You can't make any piece of software appear in Software Center,
Synaptic, etc, unless you create a .deb package, which isn't a trivial
thing to do.
