??? There's no difference in the choice of software packages (the term,
"apps," is copyright, Apple, IIANM) between Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu,
Lubuntu, Edubuntu, etc.  You may have to pull in some extra libraries
and so forth, but all the software is available and usable no matter
your choice of (Debian-based .deb) distro, much less your choice of
*buntu.

Cybe R. Wizard -at least until Ubuntu introduces the .ubu system
