Boards of that age do not have fan control. They only monitor RPM. 

 

Not that it's needed - my garage gets fairly cold in winter, and my systems
(and the drives within the systems) maintain a steady temperature using
constant velocity case fans.

 

Motherboards that support PWM fans have only been around the last few years.
