Another Question About Pairing Ubuntu & Android

Have you tried EasyTether?  It costs a one-time $10 fee for the app.
There is a driver for Ubuntu on their website and you basically just
use a USB cable and with the driver it sets up your phone as a
pass-through wired connection over USB.
