I had an Epson color printer many years ago. When I needed a refill, I
bought some off-brand ink. It clogged the thing up to where it was not
usable, and I
had to throw it out. I've had an HP DeskJet 970Dxi for about 8 years.
The HP's of that era had the jets in the ink cartridges, so if one went
bad, it didn't
matter to the printer--just replace the cartridge. I don't know what HP
is doing now. I just bough t a new Epson all-in-one--Wp-4530, and I
hope I have
better luck with it--I got it because it is fast, it does double-sided,
and it was on sale. (The Cxi does a nice job, but it is slow, and the
two-sided feature
hasn't worked in some time.)
