Coincidentally, I made an almost identical comment about such a "bigus
dickus" [**] signature - and which followed 2 other sigs containing the
sender's name and another with more identifying blurb - in another mail
list and got jumped on. Seems that it is all to do with ensuring that
the mail is secure and being posted by the person claimed to be in the
Header of the message; all this even though the mail is being posted in
a public forum and which contains no confidential or secret information.
