I've been beefing about this for ages. I won't use compiz as it isn't 
100% solid yet and screws with other high-end graphical applications. 
WITH compiz I could at least get this behavior of mouse to edge of 
screen to wrap over to the next. But, stock Gnome couldn't handle it, 
and KDE and XFCE has had this feature for ages. I just swipe the mouse 
and I'm there. No clicking on some lame box, or five-finger fumble to 
switch, it's just a natural movement. And, I can drag windows to other 
screens in like fashion. It's sweet. It's something I can show off to 
Win Lusers.

So, to me it's just another indication that the Gnome folks do as they 
damn well please and don't listen, when everyone else does. If a one man 
show like XFCE/Xubuntu can achieve this, certainly the Unity press-gang
