Have you started Thunderbird (for the profile to be created)?
If you did, that profile must be stored somewhere, which usually is
/home/username/.thunderbird/profilename.default.
By the way, you can always create it yourself. Mine's look like this:
skorzen at g62:~$ ls -l /home/skorzen/.thunderbird/
total 12
drwx------ 10 skorzen skorzen 4096 May 4 17:24 3ksvnvt3.default
