Both Firefox and Thunderbird *always* install the hidden directories
./mozilla and ./thunderbird in the /home directory of the user.
The ones I am now using started their life way back some 9 years or so
ago (under XP Pro) and which I backup every night.
If you cannot see the ./thunderbird one then you are looking in the
wrong place (for whatever reason). Or you are using some File Manager
where you don't have hidden files selected to be displayed - and you saw
the ./mozilla directory by some mysterious means (probably as the result
of waving a chicken foot over the screen [TM Ric] :-) ).
(You want to use something really useful then install, and use mc
(Midnight Commander). Anything else is inferior.)
