No its an external US Robotics modem. I found the S10 stuff 
reading on Thursday and Friday and tried setting it. I'll 
look into what the D2 is for. It looks like everyone agrees 
I need to focus on modem settings to fix the issue not on 
mgetty's configuration.  Some day I might have to give up on 
dialing in but most of our programs are still text based so 
it works fine, the hard part is finding a modem to buy 
hopefully this one will last a good decade or more like the 
one it replaced.
