If I generate a "Package Download Script" in Snyaptic can it be rn from a terminal window instead of Synaptic?

That'd be me. And you're right: there should be no `sudo` commands in
the script at all; the scrip[t should assume admin privileges and /the
whole script/ run with `sudo`. Much cleaner.
