OK.  Well, my question arose after I had looked at the Ubuntu site for the
details and not found much.  Having problems with the current installation
isn't the only reason for thinking about an upgrade.  If, for example, the
new version included significant upgrades to applications that are
important to me, then I would consider moving to 12.10 and would also
therefore take advantage of a (presumably) improved kernel and other stuff
that I wouldn't necessarily upgrade for unless there were specific
problems.  I just wanted to find out what improvements there were, other
than those featured on the Ubuntu site before downloading the CD.  Perhaps
there aren't any.
