mouse failed at boot

Hi,

In previous boot of my Ubuntu 12.10 system, mouse didn't work. Now my
system is rebooted.

1) Is this issue logged somewhere in my system so that I can check it?
2) Why do such events occur at all inspite of no changes being made to OS?
