0.16 has not been released as a "stable" version yet.  0.14.1 is the
current recommended version I believe.  In fact the Ubuntu Raring
repositories still have 0.12.1, erring on the conservative side I
assume, which is probably a good plan with utilities like this.  See

In fact of course one should always backup everything before doing
anything with gparted or similar utilities as such operations have
inherent risk.  If, for example, there were to be a power failure
during an operation then I imagine all bets are off.
