Why are you defending yourself so vigorously when everything Felix
mentioned was absolutely correct?

I don't believe the OP ever mentioned that he'd ever changed any fans,
so Felix's statements are perfectly valid. Your statement of "That's
not fast enough. You want 3000 to 4000 rpm", given that you know
nothing whatsoever of the OP's configuration seems... how shall we put
it... enthusiastic.Calling correct information "crap" however, is
terribly poor form. You should be somewhat ashamed of yourself.

It is, as you are undoubtedly aware, the correct solution; flowing
more air usually results in lower temperatures. However, you informed
the OP that his fan was spinning too slowly, based on nothing more
than an rpm reading, which is naive in the extreme.
