Occupies resources? Have you even looked at how much resources
it takes?? Have a look:

The total size is under 2kb.
And it does NOT run very often at all
The communication overhead is too small to have any impact on the network.
So, it is obvious you know very little about how ntp daemon operates.

WRONG!!
System load slows down the time and date which are updated when
the clock interrupt is serviced. Again, you know not how the kernel
operates, so please refrain from posting wrong statements that
might mislead others .

It should also be installed on desktops by default!
