Ubuntu 13.04 Suffers Performance

That is weird. I did not see an option in firefox that gives it the option
to check for NFS files systems.
Have you tried unmouting your NFS share and then start firefox. If your NFS
is being heavily accessed, then this could delay the startup of firefox.
Too many simultaneous reads.
