During the system startup there should be a key to press to get Boot
Options, or something similar. That should then give you the option
of booting off USB or DVD. It probably still won't work, but worth
trying.
On failing to boot from USB/DVD does the existing installation work
well enough to see whether the DVD and USB are able to be read ok?
