Stupid questions probably, but nobody else has asked I don't think.

You say it's a rack mounted server, so presumably it normally has no
keyboard or monitor connected?

If so, does your helper connect a monitor/keyboard in order to hit the
Del/F2/whatever key when it's been reset, in order to access the
BIOS/UEFI settings and make sure the damn thing DOES boot from the
DVD/USB drive when restarted?
