Well, for what it's worth I'm still in the same boat and haven't had a
chance to do any research, but will download the .deb package(s) here:

http://packages.ubuntu.com/quantal/i386/ndiswrapper-utils-1.9

and hope that it installs and works properly.  Just install the driver from
the CD the adapter came with?  I haven't been able to look into the
situation, should be able to do some reading/RTFM'ing today.
