Ubuntu freezing frequently

2GB should be plenty for normal use (whatever that is).  Open a
terminal and run top, if you can keep the top few lines visible on
screen while you are working and then wait for the PC to freeze and
see if anything seems to be using lots of memory.  Also note the
values on the KiB Mem line and the KiB Swap line (when it freezes) and
post them here.

Sometimes these issues can be caused by Flash, does it happen on a
particular web site for example?
