rikona,
I know locking the stable after the horse is gone, etc. is well known
but my strong advice to everybody - no exception! is to use backuppc!!
I use it now for several years and seldom look at it.
I know it has a steep learning curve but an excellent embedded manual
but it is rock solid and has in it standard configuration practically
everything you need and you can adapt it to your own heart.
Of course you need to use an external disk but that is nowadays no
problem even if you need terrabyte storage.
I have an external 1 Tb disk I use now for 3 years and next year it will
be retired and replaced by a new one and kept as reserve.
I backup only 4 computers so it is easy with one disk but My son uses it
for 12 systems also without any problems.
Just my advice,
Joep
