I would get rid of any RAID whatsoever in the firmware and use a Linux
software RAID if you really must have a stripe. I would not recommend
it, though. The performance benefits are not as great as is often
claimed, and with a stripe set, you halve your MTBF - meaning a disk
failure is twice as likely.

If you want good disk performance, put an SSD in as your boot drive,
and use one of your 1TB drives in an external case for backup.
