Menu Items

I have converted my system over to ubuntu 12.04 lts

I did a search on google for adding applications to the start menu.

It gave me the options to go to "System > Preferences > Main Menu" and 
then I will get the box to add applications to my start menu.

The problem is there is no "Main Menu" option to edit and add 
applications to the start menu.
