Upgrading to virtualbox 4.3 using synaptic

As you have the virtualbox repository activated, I can tell you from 
experience that the upgrade to 4.3 will replace the current virtualbox 
version. If you have the proprietary driver installed to get USB access 
etc., you should then also download the new version of the driver from 
the virtualbox download site. Then click on the icon for the downloaded 
file with your file manager and it should install the driver.
