Help can't login!

Hi,

Thanks for confirming my hunch that it's not passwd related! I have
made a 3rd user with full privileges, I have also run 'sudo chown -R
pete:pete /home/pete' which did not produce any output or errors and
did take approx 10 sec to complete.

Having tried to post logs requested in this mail, and the mail
bouncing due to being over size! I will paste lightdm.log here (note
maybe a failed login at start of log due to clumsy fingers!) and
.Xsession onto pastebin link at bottom of post. HMMM file too big for
pastebin as well, will look into and remove duplicate lines then put
on here!
