got false kernel updates

Hi,

using: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Workstations
on friday 06.06 we got Kernel Updates for both generic and virtual 
Kernel, Headers.

After reboot, the workstation was locked. I did a reboot in previous 
kernel, and removed the virtual kernel.

Wy do I get virtual Kernels and Headers for a bare metal client?
Does somebody else had these issues?
