I have been using Ubuntu about ten years. I had, had no training
in computer technology so just fumbled my way throught to install
Debian. I struggled with it about 6 moths and landed on Ubuntu. I am now
80 yeras old and I make video's use the net, write stories and even a
book. Never have I had a virus nor had any need to do anything but run
the desktop. I try my best to get family and friends to use Linux when
ever I get a chance to be an advocate. As a matter of fact I really
struggle now to get around in windows and likely wouldn't be able to use
windows 8 without difficulty. I am presently using the desktop
Navagatrix which is Ubuntu with a lot of marine navigation and marine
radio programs that I use on my sailboat. When I get to old for sailing
I will go back to plain old Vanella Ubuntu. Doug
