Linux is not good for Desktop

Yes, I've had that thought. However, my PC is not very new and I heard that
Cinnamon is even heavier than Unity, or at least as heavy, so I'm not quite
sure yet. Also I want to run Compiz, and as I understand it that can't be
done with Cinnamon. Unless I can achieve the same thing without Compiz, of
course. I know that wobbly windows and the desktop cube shouldn't be that
important, but I kind of like them… (and I can like whatever I like,
right…? :P )

And Maté is not yet (and will never be?) ported to GTK+ 3, right? Or maybe
I'm just sitting on old information.
