Hi,

Run the command hotot from a terminal and paste any resulting errors 
here. "It crashes" does not give a lot of info to work from.

Have you got it set to auto login, and changed your password after the 
ongoing "Heartbleed" mess? In which case you can try and find the config 
file for hotot, (probably in /home/<user-name>/.hotot) and set the login 
value to "false" or "0" (depending on how its set) to give you a chance 
to up-date your password.

Just a couple of thoughts
