esc key does not work

Not sure what happened. The 'esc' key now started working again. Odd! I
clicked the EN icon on
the top right corner to double check the keyboard Character Maps and
Keyboard Layout Chart and
Text Entry Settings.. . Now it started working again. I am not sure if I
clicked something, to "fix",
while playing with the menu from EN icon.
