The 127.0.0.1 ended up being my NEXT question as a lurker on this
thread but you answered proactively.. The other, having been making
and breaking everything on my computer, am familiar with /run. You
said "IIRC" so am taking it that it's ok to say I'm finding it under
just /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf in case anyone goes looking in /etc
and doesn't find..
When I saw something written earlier in this thread, I was thinking
resolv.conf but was just not up for putting my foot in my mouth
(again). Mine here I finally got browsers to work via dialup by
symlinking /etc/resolv.conf to /etc/ppp/resolv.conf. Was just some tip
I garnered off the Net and that worked but I have NO insight as to why
it works, especially now that here's /run/resolveconf with the same
name..
Mine under /etc/ppp reflects the correct namerservers (2 of them) for
my provider. And again it's on dialup which could make the difference
in the avenue followed, too..
In rereading one more time before sending, I went back into /etc where
I saved the original resolv.conf. It is default symlinked to
"../run/resolvconf/resolv.conf" before I manually adjusted it to
reflect the contents of /etc/ppp/resolv.conf......
