Migrating from Windows to Ubuntu

Hello

Is there any chance for me to migrate from Windows to Ubuntuif I need a 
Internet Explorer compatible browser?
The site that I must access gives me a error in Mozilla and Chrome: 
function CreatePopup not found.
If there is no compatible brower could I use a Windows machine to make 
this site compatible to standard browsers(Mozilla, Chrome)?
