I am using deadline anyway, as it is supposed (or so I have been
advised, I'm not really in a position to know) to be better with SSDs.

The boot screen is definitely not important, as I have disabled it
anyway :)

I'm quite curious about it. I do like Xfce a lot, but since there is so
much new stuff in KDE now, I decided I should check it out.
