I was given a teeny usb radio for wifi but no docs or drivers, want to
use it with ubuntu. I think it works, the donor says it is unused.
When I plug it in this is what I get from dmesg:
[13797.957040] usb 1-3: new high-speed USB device number 5 using ehci-pci
[13798.083114] usb 1-3: New USB device found, idVendor=148f, idProduct=760b
[13798.083125] usb 1-3: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2,
SerialNumber=3
[13798.083132] usb 1-3: Product: 802.11 n WLAN
[13798.083137] usb 1-3: Manufacturer: MediaTek
[13798.083142] usb 1-3: SerialNumber: 1.0
I see it's supposed to be from Mediatek but don't see how to tell what
model it is. Their online support, here:
http://mediatek.com/en/downloads1/downloads/
Doesn't seem specific in the way dmesg sees it.
Anyone see how to get from the detected info to a model or part
number? or maybe a reference to how the dmesg idVendor and idProduct
numbers are established?
