Error in Cacti Network Monitor Tool

Dear All,

I have some question about Cacti Tool.

1. Is it necessary to client side install 'snmpd ' s/w .
2. When I  try 'ping ' option some machine showing output and showing
status unknow.
3. In a machine graph option 'Unix Process' Graph display some Green icon
only.
