Sometimes. Typically not for highly specific searches such as this. Just
for fun I tried from three different systems on three different
continents and got the identical first result.

Maybe you should have used Google instead of DuckDuckGo? There are
literally dozens of relevant items, all saying pretty much the same
thing.

I suppose what I was trying to say with my admittedly flippant initial
response is that you didn't appear to have made the slightest effort to
find an answer yourself. If you did, I apologise, but if your searching
failed to find anything like the above link, then you should seriously
consider ditching DuckDuckGo.

There is a generic way to solve problems like this, especially for boxes
that don't really need Internet access. Block everything at the
firewall, let in (and out) only things you want. In this case, you could
just find the IP address/es of mistletoe.canonical.com and block
it/them. Don't forget to block the IPv6 addresses too, if any.
