have to update on a regular basis...why?

I don't recall at the moment.  I went to install wget and, pardon, I 
don't recall the error.  I just noticed the pattern.  That could very 
well be the problem, makes sense.

I also noticed that I installed activemq fine, then purged it, then when 
went to re-install, was presented with an error which may have been about 
the version; update fixed it.

It's not a huge deal, more of a curiosity.  Probably if I had all my 
updates turned on it would fix itself.
