Update Evolution?

Hi Ubuntu experts

I have used Evolution for years in spite of occasional hangs.  
I see on their website that version 3.16 is stable.
1.    Would that be compatible with 14.04 ?
2.    If so , what commands would update to that version please ? (I get
confused by all the apt variations)

I read all the postings to your list, but they are usually way beyond my
expertise.
