*Ubuntu 16.04 does not "discover" the printer Samsung ML-1660, though "printer-driver-splix" has been installed.

PS. Also via CUPS, I do NOT manage any more to discover the printer or to 
manually install a Splix printer driver enabling me to get the printer working 
again.
