Rear Sound Jack Doesn't work

Is the problem only within Skype, or has ALL sound output moved to the
front jack?

If you have built-in speakers, what happens when you have nothing
plugged in to either jack?

Have you tried selecting the other device within Skype?

There is a test utility in the Ubuntu sound setup utility. It lets you
test each available channel separately. You could try running that. It
won't change anything, but might be useful for diagnosis. The sound
setup utility should how you if you have different available devices,
will let you choose between them, and might for example show you if you
have all volume faded to the front....
