Still trying to get Gmail notifications to work on Ubuntu 14.04

By default Google Chrome allows all notifications. I'm neither a Google
Chrome user, nor do I have a gmail account, but I installed Google
Chrome for one of my Linux installs, for testing purpose. I remember
that I read about this notification issue on a Linux related mailing
list this or last month. Perhaps a search term including "Linux" and
the notification issue leads to something.
