Lightdm crash on Xenial after upgrading kernel to 4.4.0-22-generic

Guys,

 After upgrading Xenial, Ubuntu desktop is not usable anymore.

 Bug report:

 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1579294

 This looks like an emergency situation!

 I'm gonna do one more test, a fresh install from Ubuntu 16.04 Desktop ISO,
followed by an upgrade and a reboot, to see if problem is easy to reproduce.
