yeah, this is definitely some issue with the config (or filesystem
corruption or some such)
bob: did you actually do what the error tells you ?
systemctl status smbd.service
and
journalctl -xe
should get you some more info ...
calling testparm as colin suggests should also tell you something about
the state of the samba config ...
