LightScribe Ubuntu >= 16.04 (64bit)

Hi,

yesterday I needed LightScribe, but the LightScribe software doesn't
recognise the drive. I installed it on Ubuntu Xenial 16.04 (64bit), as
well as Arch Linux (64bit) and it failed on both installs. Around
midnight I have given up troubleshooting and used LightScribe of an old
Ubuntu Quantal 12.10 (kernel 3.6.5-rt14 64bit) install, its end of life
was 2½ years ago.

Has somebody successfully used LightsScribe with Ubuntu >= 16.04?
