"File list of package tracker in xenial of architecture amd64

/etc/xdg/autostart/tracker-store.desktop"

It contains the xdg desktop file, too.

Anyway, the OP posted:
>chris at localhost:~$ ps ax -o cmd | grep [t]racker
>/usr/lib/tracker/tracker-miner-apps
>/usr/lib/tracker/tracker-extract
>/usr/local/libexec/tracker-store
>/usr/lib/tracker/tracker-miner-fs
>/usr/lib/tracker/tracker-miner-user-guides

Regarding http://packages.ubuntu.com/ no Xenial package contains something
including "libexec/tracker-store", with or without "local".

"/usr/lib/tracker/tracker-miner-apps" OTOH is provided by the package
http://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial-updates/tracker-miner-fs .

The output of

  ls -ld /usr/{,local/}lib/*tracker*

would show, what options the OP has got to stay with a dirty hack and to
perhaps ensure, that just local installed libraries could be used.
