set up global sock5 proxy

Is there any method to set up a sock5 proxy? Maybe setting up a
iptables rule or something? I have set up a shadowsocks client on my
Ubuntu and have successfully pointed my browser to use that proxy. But
I want some other programs to use that too.

Any ideas?
