Yes, vi(m) is still the default text mode editor for more or less all
UNIX alike operating systems, but most of the times distros by default
provide nano nowadays, too. Nano has got limitations, but if an editor
should be needed once a year (e.g. for usage with visudo :D), it's easy
to use and for everyday work we should assume users tend to be more
satisfied by a GUI editor. Individual highlightning wishes could be
written to ~/.nanorc.
