Anything less than the first two items is effectively no backups. If
you are in business, you need the first four as a minimum. If you are
responsible to others for the safe keeping of data, you must have the
first five. The sixth - automation - is a good idea for anyone, and
pretty much essential for business.
How you achieve these principles is almost irrelevant. The usual
guiding principle is speed of recovery or ease of management.
